The large tower in the centre of this photo is going to be the tallest building in europe when its finished (if only for about a month), it's rumoured to be a Hilton Hotel. This photo was taken from Fallowfield's Platt Fields Park (about half an hour away in a straight line) the main student area for the city, apparenty when its finished we'll be able to see it almost everywhere. Four more buildings of the same size are also being built to finish within the next two years.
I'm starting to feel very small and the sky seems not so far away anymore.
It's about time Manchester got some proper skyscrapers, eh? I love Beetham Tower, and she's not even finished yet... I'd kill for a penthouse apartment!
It really stands out in the skyline when your on a train leaving Piccadily. I love it too, can't wait to see it finished, it just keeps getting taller! Not sure about going to the top though (is scared of heights!). I want to go and take some photos from the observation bit at the Imperial War Museum, but I'm scared to go up there again (will bribe someone into forcing her), but the view is amazing from there.

Two things matter the most in life; chocolate and pretties
I went through a funny stomach-doing-backflips-when-in-high-places phase a couple of years back, which was weird considering I grew up in the Land of Tall Buildings aka Hong Kong... thankfully I'm over that now! To help inspire you this month, #project-improve and #ProjectComment have joined creative and collaborative forces to bring you 'An Image Is Worth A Thousand Words' Contest.
The theme of this contest is pretty much as the title states; we would like you to draw on inspiration for a piece of literature that coincides with an image of your choice. The extent of the involvement of the image is entirely up to you.
Both visual artists and writers can take part, so please read the article to find out more!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
If you're looking for a deviant to brighten up your day, look no further than `JurgenDoe. Jurgen's infectious enthusiasm and passion for deviantART is evident in all areas. Jurgen's eclectic gallery gives you a glimpse into his vibrant personality, and shows that he's not just good at cooking up a storm in the kitchen, but that he's always prepared to throw some devious spices into his artistic endeavours. So with a dash of hooray and a heaped spoonful of congratulations, we are delighted to present the Deviou... Read More
